Exchange-traded funds (ETFs)

ETFs can be a convenient way to increase your diversification, follow sectors and so on. Each ETF includes a portfolio of investments, and usually has low management fees. You can also trade an ETF like a stock even though it’s a fund, still just $6.95 per online trade. The price you pay for an ETF will always be lower than the cost of buying its individual holdings. Mutual funds

Take your pick of 100% no-load mutual funds from a variety of fund families such as Vanguard, Fidelity and more. There are no transaction fees on many funds and low transaction fees (just $19.95 per trade) on others (see our pricing and rates). You can also view each fund’s Morningstar® analysis to see its rating, risk, performance and more—as you search.

Options

Options can help you hedge against risk, generate income and make the most out of market moves. But they also carry risks and aren’t for all investors.
