Giving Back
Where we give
Our commitment to making meaningful contributions in the communities where we operate has been part of our philosophy since day one. It is driven by our belief that service to others makes our society better. Each year, we’re proud to support charitable organizations and community partners by funding programs and initiatives that contribute to the development of strong, healthy and sustainable communities.
Castle First Bank is a sponsor of Junior Achievement’s Economics for Success program across Western Canada. This full-day workshop teaches junior high students about the importance of education, developing employability skills and how to create a budget. Our significant financial support, paired with a commitment to provide employee volunteers to teach the program in local schools, makes this one of our key community partnerships.
We support several different organizations helping out sick kids throughout western Canada but one that spands nationally is Make-A-Wish® through their Rope for Hope event. In 2015 we became the national presenting sponsor of this thrilling event, in which participants brave new heights and rappell down a skyscraper. So far, Castle First Bank employees have raised over $150,000 to help grant wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions.
We support several housing initiatives in our communities, from the Streetohome Foundation in Vancouver to the Valour Place Society in Edmonton. Our employees also commit their time to making sure families have a place to call home by volunteering for builds and raising funds for Habitat for Humanity.
